The Trinity College Investment Club, founded in 1966, is one of the oldest in the NESCAC. Over the past 50 years, we have taken a small seed grant and grown it into a portfolio of over $620,000. As a student-managed fund, we provide our members a hands-on learning exercise in developing responsible and successful investment strategies. Our aim is to maintain balance between the educational aspect of investing and successful profit generation.
Our fund invests in publicly-traded equities, fixed-income instruments, and alternative investments (commodities, REITs, etc.). Newer members start as analysts in one of our five sectors: Domestic Equities, Foreign Equities, Fixed Income, Alternatives, Risk Management. Each group is lead by a Sector Head or Portfolio Manager who holds weekly meetings for their sector. Each group is responsible for monitoring the performance of their market positions, identifying new opportunities, and providing buy/hold/sell recommendations.
All students, irrespective of their investment experience, are welcome to join TCIC. Through weekly meetings, guest speakers, and field trips, we provide club members a unique opportunity to develop the applicable skills for personal or professional investing.
